We’ve had a lot of fun in Bend so far.

Tumalo Falls, The Painted Hills, floating down The Deschutes River. So many beautiful sights to see and so much fun.

We visited Tumalo Falls, which is a short drive from Bend in Dechutes National Forest. Tuamalo Creek Trail to Tumalo Falls is a 7 mile trail that is good for all skill levels. Dogs are also able to use the trail. Tumalo Falls is a 97-foot waterfall on Tumalo Creek, in the Cascade Range. Additional waterfalls are upstream along Tumalo Creek.

Tumalo Waterfall, it is amazing, powerful and beautiful

The Painted Hills are about a 90 minute drive from Bend, Oregon. They are 9 miles north west of Mitchell, Oregon off Hwy 26, a country road that winds through rugged landscapes that leads to a geological wonderland.

When you travel to the Painted Hills, you can see millions of years of history revealed in the layers of mountains of earth, one color at a time.

So much beauty in every direction.

Sunday we floated down The Deschutes River. This was the funnest thing we have done so far and I highly recommend this for the whole family. You can bring your own floats or you can rent them for $15. Whether you rent theirs or bring your own float, you can pay $3 a person to use the Float ‘N Ride Buses They will drop you off at one spot and you float and then they’ll pick you up and take you back to where you began. This is the most relaxing and fun thing you can do on a warm afternoon in Bend.

Floating down the Deschutes River. So much fun!

Relaxing on the river!

Having a fun and relaxing Sunday afternoon. Cheers!

If in Bend, Oregon over the summer months, you have to float down the river, it is a blast!
